NIOS conducts two types of exams to accommodate the needs and schedules of its students. They are
- Public Exams
- On Demand Exams
Public Exams are the standard examinations conducted by NIOS, typically held twice a year during the April-May and October-November cycles. These exams follow a fixed schedule and are available for both Secondary (10th) and Senior Secondary (12th) levels, as well as for some vocational courses.
Who is it for?
- Students who are enrolled in NIOS's Secondary and Senior Secondary programs looking to achieve their 10th or 12th standard equivalency.
- Learners who have opted for vocational courses through NIOS and are at the stage of completing their program.
- Individuals seeking to improve their grades in previously attempted subjects
Registration Process
- Exam Update: Check the official NIOS website for the exam registration notification, which usually opens a few months before the exam dates.
- Online Registration: Use your NIOS online Student portal (Exams & Results > Examination > Pay Fee) to pay for your exam, fill in your registration details, select your subjects, and submit the required fee.
- Document Submission: Upload necessary documents as specified, including identification and previous academic records.
- Confirmation: After successful payment, ensure you receive a confirmation. Keep this for your records.
