NIOS makes education accessible for everyone, whether you're starting late, picking up where you left off, or looking to learn new skills for your job. It's all about learning in a way that works for you. With a wide range of programs such as,
- Open Basic Education
- Secondary & Sr. Secondary Programs
- Vocational Educational Programs
NIOS ensures that there is something for every learner, empowering individuals to achieve their educational and career goals at their own pace and convenience.
Open Basic Education
NIOS offers a special program for anyone over 14 years old, including adults and those who missed out on school earlier. This program has three levels: A, B, and C. These are just like being in 3rd, 5th, and 8th grade at a regular school. NIOS works with over 850 places where you can go to study for these courses. They help by giving study materials, making the courses, and even giving certificates together with these centers.
Secondary & Sr. Secondary Programs
If you're looking to finish your high school or higher secondary education, NIOS lets you pick what subjects you want to study, learn at your own speed, and even use good marks from other boards to count here. You can try the exams up to nine times in five years until you pass. The study includes books, audio-video lessons, meeting teachers in person, and assignments. They provide books in many languages and even let you take exams when you feel ready. For high school, you can choose from 28 subjects in eight languages, and for higher secondary, there are subjects available in five languages.
Vocational Education Programs
NIOS also has courses for those who want to learn a specific job skill, like farming, business, engineering, health, teaching, computers, and more. These courses focus on practical learning and even include training at actual job sites. NIOS wants to make these courses even better by working with top organizations in various fields. They have a special plan to make sure these vocational courses teach you both the knowledge and skills you need for your future job.
NIOS is a great choice for first-time learners, people with disabilities, and anyone who didn't have the chance to go to school before. They make sure everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow.
